PUPPY
MILLS AND PET STORE PUPPIES: WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW!!!
The
content of this page is pretty graphic and not suited for young
children!
Here are some facts about pet store puppies and where they
come from.
- Did
you know that 90% of pet store puppies come from puppy
mills?
- Did
you know that when pet stores employees tell you that they don't buy their
dogs from a puppy mill, they are actually telling the truth? The actually
buy the puppies from a puppy broker, who buys the the pups from a puppy mill. I
should also mention that many pet store employees are lied to in their training,
they are told that these pups come from reputable breeders only, and that is sad
too often what they believe.
Do you
know how puppy mills treat their dogs, (the parents of pet store puppies)? They
get mostly small dogs because they are easier to care for, people buy them more
and spend more money on them. Those dogs are in a cage their whole life. They
never go outside on the grass, and hardly ever have any human contact. Often,
there is worms in their food from lack of cleanliness and from all the feces in
the crates. Many of them have a bottle of water hanging from the outside of
their crates so the puppy miller never has to touch the dog or open the door.
Most of the time, they shove a few dogs in a very small crate so they can have
more in less room. These dogs often have very serious health conditions, often
passed on to their pups. They get no vet checks. There is many more things going
on in there, they are most time underfed, and they are strictly a machine, used
to have pup after pup, litter after litter, until they die from
it.
How can
you help prevent this????
For
starter, don't EVER buy a pet store puppy, the cute puppy you see in the window
comes from this kind of backgrounds. Find a reputable breeder or go to a
shelter. The more people buy at pet stores, the more people will keep this
horrible type of practice.
This
is a poodle, a typical condition for the mothers and fathers of those cute
puppies you see in the windows at the pet shop! Yup, those breeders really care
what they put into their dogs! Looks like the parents of those pups are well
cared for!
This
poodle was rescued from the puppy mill, where it was used to only produce pups
for money. She has obviously been rolling in her own feces and likely those of
other dogs in her crate for quite some time now! She could not be saved and is
now dead.
Another example of the pet store pups parents, this shi-tzu was
also rescued from a puppy mill, pus coming out of where eye should be. This dog
was actually used for breeding purposes. Unbelievable!
This
dog had to be put down as it could not be saved
either
All
these dogs did not make it
Before Bath
After
Bath
Lost all
his hair
These
are 2 old dogs that were still being bred, their hair isn't even
growing from skin condition, and likely,
malnutrition
Does
this look like a happy dog?
What
kind of a life is this?
Severely
malnurished
Way
overgrown nails, this dog's joints were all messed up from her nails, walking
was unbearable for her
Sunshine
Sunshine was rescued and she actually lived I believe,
although, I could be wrong. She had been chained up as a puppy, and her neck
grew right into the chain.
This
picture was taken 10 days after her surgery. You can see pictures of Sunshine
when she was rescued by clicking on her picture. I should warn you that those
pictures are grotesque, extremely graphic and
sickening.
Where
are pet store puppies raised?????
WARNING!!!
THE
PICTURES YOU ARE ABOUT TO SEE ARE VERY DISTURBING, ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISKS! THEY
ARE SICKENING, VERY GRAPHIC, BUT DO REPRESENT THE BREEDING STOCKS+CONDITIONS IN
WHICH PET STORE PUPPIES COME FROM.

Warning:
Very graphic!
A
responsible one that is, you wonder if your breeder is responsible, sad too
often, it means that they arent! Never feel bad for asking for references from
people who have bought their dogs from there. A good breeder will not be hiding
things from you, he will feel free to answer any of your questions to the best
of their knowledge. A good breeder will be glad to help you after the purchase
of your pup with any problem or question there may be. The premises will be
clean, their own dogs well cared for, the parents friendly (some protection from
the mother of the pups can be normal).
Please, feel free to link this page to your site as it is
intended to educate buyers. I find sad too often that people dont know what a
puppy mill really is. Most tend to think that the reputable breeders are jealous
due to "loss of business" and that a puppy mill simply means that the breeding
stock is overbred..without having any idea of what the conditions those poor
animals live in....or understanding of it...Even though most peole tend to not
like the content of the page...i chose to show the severity of the problem as
this is an issue that should not be embellished or
masked....
